| Red Hand Girls SeekUlster U-16 Title This Sunday (11th July) is Ulster Ladies Football Final day at Clones with Tyrone’s Under 16 team carrying the hopes of the O’Neill County as they take on Donegal in the curtain-raiser to the eagerly anticipated Ulster Senior Ladies decider between Armagh and Monaghan. The Red Hand girls will be in action at 1.30pm as they go in search of provincial glory. It promises to be quite an occasion for this highly talented young Tyrone side, which has impressed many observers with their displays to date in this year’s Ulster championship. Under the expert tutelage of Pius Fox from Loughmacrory and Louise Daly from the Aodh Ruadh club, Tyrone’s young guns have been racking up amazing scoring tallies on their way to the 2010 Final. They have recorded facile victories over Down (7-14 to 1-6), Monaghan (7-15 to 0-4) and this weekend’s final opponents Donegal (4-17 to 0-5). |

| Tyrone Clubs to Feature at 2010 Ladies Football Feile This weekend sees the 2010 Ladies GAA Feile take place. Derry is the official host county of this year’s event but a number of Tyrone clubs have also been called upon to play their part in welcoming teams from all over Ireland. Sperrin Og, Clan na Gael, Aodh Ruadh, Cill Iseal and Errigal Ciaran are the clubs from the Red Hand County who will have the honour of hosting Division 1 teams competing at this prestigious competition, while St Macartans are Tyrone’s sole representatives in Division 2 and will be hosted by a team from Donegal.This year’s Feile will get underway on Friday (2nd July) with a round of games which will see visiting teams from all four provinces play their host clubs. Later that evening, all roads lead to county Derry for the Feile parade involving all competing players, team mentors, organisers and supporters. This large and colourful parade will finish up at Derry GAA’s main county ground, Celtic Park.On Saturday morning, there will be a series of round robin games at four venues – Emyvale, Greencastle, Dungannon and Killeeshil. The first round of Feile skills competitions will also take place on Saturday morning. A large crowd is expected at Killeeshil for the semi-finals on Saturday afternoon before the Feile will reach its climax on Sunday at 2.45pm with the Final at Derry’s Celtic Park. It promises to be a wonderful weekend of ladies football and is a great opportunity for Tyrone Gaels to see some of the finest young talent from around the country display their skills at a venue near you!

Junior Championship Sperrin Óg, St. Enda’s and Drumragh remain on course for Junior Championship honours following victories at the quarter-finals stage last week. Sperrin Óg got the better of Kildress in an eight goal thriller, St.Enda’s scored a facile win against Badoney, while Drumragh hit all the right notes against Donaghmore to advance to the next round. |
