Red hands ready for title tilt

Hot on the heels of Tyrones historic Under 14 victory last month the spotlight switches now on the countys Under 16 squad as they prepare to meet Monaghan in the Ulster decider at Emyvale.

Emyvale  is the venue for the 3pm throw in what promises to be a decent under 16 final. Tyrone set to tackle old rivals Monaghan.

The red hand girls last won this championship in 2001 and with narrow defeats in the last two finals,  they are certainly overdue in regaining the Ulter crown.

There’s no doubting this is the most talented bunch to represent the county at this age in several years. County board officials have called on the clubs in the county to rally round and gather a large support for these girls in what is set6 to be a major occasion for Tyrone.

A third Ulster final for Tyrone sides this term with the hope that they can take some of the hurt away from the senior sides exit on Sunday.

            The squad is made up of a total of thirty girls from sixteen clubs. The goalkeepers are Sinead McVey (Ardboe) and Mna Na Deirge’s Stephanie Harper.
