LEAGUE SEASON OPENS [27.02.08]

The new domestic season opens in Tyrone this weekend with the counties Teamtalk minor league the feature. All games throw in at 5pm and clubs are reminded they must let county secretary Maggie Skelton  and fixtures know the home venues for this season. Ahead of this weekend.

WJ DOLAN CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS [19.02.08]

Tyrone and Ulster senior champions Errigal Ciaran have been handed a decidedly tough draw in this years WJ Dolan senior Football championship, An Charrag Mhor will be out for revenge as the sides meet again at the same stage of the competition that saw the perennial champions crash out last year.

After a week best forgotten by all at Ardboe O’Donavan Rossas, there was something to smile about on Saturday as the club progressed to senior football in Tyrone by virtue of a seven point victory over Sperrin Og.

A powerhouse second half performance spearheaded by the impressive Katrina Daly coupled with Roisin Toners two goals that completed her hat trick drove Badoney to the WJ Dolan Tyrone junior title and the Brenda Lougue cup at Galballys expense at Kildress.

SENIOR FINAL REPORT [12.09.07]

The Jarleth Kerr cup will rest at Cardinal McRory park for the first time in the history of Tyrone ladies football, after the WJ Dolan Tyrone senior football final between the two Clogher Valley neighbours St Macartans and Errigal Ciaran in the end finished with a rather comfortable Errigal Ciaran victory.

After several weeks of inactivity it’s a return to club football in Tyrone this coming week and it’s straight into the county championships which are at the semi-final stages in all grades.

The Tyrone Ladies county board have appealed to supporters to turn out en bloc this Sunday as Tyrone face Armagh in the Ulster final. Clones is the venue (3-30pm) and the games preceeded by the Intermediate final.

Errigal ladies dethroned county champions  An Charraig Mhor on Tuesday. In the end it was Tyrone minor Sarah Connolly who lashed over the winning point deep into injury time.

MINOR WINS FOR DONAGHMORE & ERRIGAL[18.06.07]

While championship fever has reigned in the past couple of weeks two further Minor finals were decided in Tyrone, In Grade two Donaghmore beat Fr Rocks while it took a replay to separate Ardboe and champions Errigal Ciaran. In the end, inspired by county minor star Shannon Quinn Errigal secured the grade one title.

UP FOR THE FINAL [08.05.07]

The Tyrone Minor Ladies Football finals commence in the county this weekend with the Teamtalk Grade 3 and Grade 4 deciders down for decision. In Grade 1, Errigal Ciaran still await the winners of Aodh Ruadh and Ardboe, who meet in their semi-final replay this week while Donaghmore will face either Fr. Rock's or St. Dympna's in the Grade 2 final. Those ties are scheduled for 26th May. Fintona will take on Loughmacrory in the Grade 3 final and Coalisland face Pomeroy in the Grade 4 decider this weekend.

The Tyrone county board appeal to all clubs in Tyrone to please try and attend the Ulster minor final on Tuesday 8th. Tyrone will face Down at a Down venue and its vitally important that our county is well supported. The County chairperson Ann Marie Meehan has called on all clubs to try and have some representatives at the game and especially the clubs that have playing members on this very special talented squad.

The draws for the WJ Dolan senior football championship was made on Tuesday night and already the appetite for the early Summer first round ties has been wetted as perennial champions An Charraig Mhor will step out to defend there crown against beaten finalists Errigal Ciaran.

NEW MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCED

Former Tyrone footballer Jimmy McCloughan has been appointed Manager of the Tyrone senior ladies team as the county attempt to re-establish themselves as a force in the ladies game. Fintona man McCloughan was actually appointed last Monday night and had already indicated his intentions to host trials from this Sunday.
