Tyrone Ladies Under 14’s

On Sunday the under 14 girls take on Leitrim in the all Ireland B quarter-final at Mullahoran, Co. Cavan at 1.00pm. This game precedes the all Ireland minor semi-final between Tyrone and Dublin.

This group of under 14 girls are determined to make history by becoming the first team at this level to reach the all Ireland semi-final, last year both teams were knocked out in the quarter-finals.

Leitrim were defeated in the Connacht final by Roscommon but had victory over Sligo to reach the provincial final. Tyrone know this is going to be a sterling test for them as they played Sligo in a friendly which turned out to be a very close affair.

Since that game against Sligo the red hand girls have came on in leaps and bounds accumulating with an Ulster championship victory over hot favourites Armagh to lift the Counties first title in this grade.

Tyrone will be forced to make changes to the team who started in the Ulster final because of Holiday’s and injuries, but such is the strength and depth of this squad able replacements are eager to get their chance. Joe Bonners biggest problem is selecting the starting fifteen as every girl has a chance on merit.

It is important that this young team gets the support it deserves on Sunday and a good support is expected.
