LADIES FOOTBALL

UNDER 14s ALL IRELAND SEMI-FINAL

On Sunday the under 14 girls of Tyrone will be entering new territory when they take on Wicklow in the All Ireland semi-final at Mullahoran, Co. Cavan (throw-in at 2pm)

This will be the first time an under 14 team from Tyrone will contest an All Ireland semi-final. They meet the county that defeated them at the quarter-final stage last year, but this looks a stronger all round squad who are growing in confidence with every game. The probable starting fifteen boost nine players who are under age again next year, and this experience should stand them well in the future.

Although there are a few enforced changes to the team with half forwards Megan McNelis and Amy McElhatton unavailable for selection through family commitments the girls in waiting are ready to fill their boots. Tyrone were very Convincing in their quarter final demolishing of Leitrim, and a repeat performance should see them overcoming the challenge of last years beaten finalists Wicklow and setting up a final against the winners of Roscommon/Tipperary on the 4 th August.

The winner of the Bodhran in the development draw was Declain McGirr from Drumquin, congratulations to him and thanks to everyone who contributed to this draw.

Sunday 22 nd July Tyrone v Wicklow in mullahoran at 2.00pm . This will be followed by the senior all Ireland round one game Tyrone v Laois at 3.30pm .

Support for our teams will be welcomed.
