TYRONE LADIES 2007 TG4 ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONSHIP GROUP 3
TYRONE VS DONEGAL Saturday July 28th 2007. 5-15pm HEALY PARK OMAGH

Integration at its best will be on the agenda this Saturday as Tyrone and Donegal ladies meet at Omaghs Healy Park ahead of the all Ireland qualifier between Donegal and Monaghan.
The Ladies central Council confirmed the fixture last week and it marks a major step forward for the ladies game especially in Ulster. The qualifier is expected to attract a bumper crowd to the Omagh venue and with a packed house it offers the Donegal ladies and Tyrone who beat them in the Ulster championship that extra incentive to perform well. Last Weekend on the opening day of the new look all Ireland senior championship format Donegal fell to Sligo in group three, ten points separating the sides in a 1-18 to 1-8 scoreline. Tyrone should have beat Laois, they certainly had the chances and the possession to overturn the Leinster champions in Cavan but in the end it was 1-14 to 1-11 in favour of the Tracey Lawlor inspired Laois.
Saturdays tie then has all the hall marks of being a cracker, both sides need the victory, both sides need the points in the group as Laois and Sligo lock horns on Sunday.
The big winner though should be the ladies game as a whole. bringing the ladies game to a wider audience was the aim of this new look format and Saturdays tie could see the teams battle it out in front of the biggest crowd outside of the all Ireland finals at Croke Park this year.
Tyrone go into the tie expected to make several changes. Manager Jimmy McCloughan was unhappy at some of the handling and the final passing on Sunday as they lost to Laois at Mullaghoran. Theres enforced changes too with Lucy Meehan unavailable but the manager may also opt for some of the youth in the squad as Tyrone attempt to beat a side that they seen off in the Ulster championship quarter final.
Donegal will be energised for this clash , they will have massive support at Healy Park and for many players it’s a chance for them to prove that the Ulster loss was just a blip. Tyrone will have to be at their best then at Omagh on Saturday evening.
TYRONE LADIES IN APPEAL FOR SUPPORT
This game, Tyrone’s second in Group 3 of the all Ireland championship is the curtain raiser to the all Ireland qualifier between Donegal and Monaghan on Saturday.
This is a vitally important match and is certainly a high profile game for our senior side. As a county we need to be behind our senior footballers as they take on the Donegal side.
We are appealing to all clubs in Tyrone to make an effort to come out and support our senior side in this fixture. Clubs should try where possible to organise and be at Healy Park together as groups.
At this stage Tyrone officials are waiting to see if they will have access to stand tickets ( the stand will be all ticket) so they would encourage the Tyrone support to try and be on the terrace, centrally where the new press box/ control tower is.
There’s no doubting the Donegal support will be there early and in force and we must be there in numbers too. Said a spokesman this week
All clubs have a week to prepare and get organised. We really can’t let our girls down this time. He went on to say.
