The Tyrone u-14's took Ulster by storm on Tuesday winning the Ulster blitz cup and reaching the final of the sheild competition. The first team went through the day undefeated with victories over Armagh ,Cavan & Monaghan in the group stages. In the final they met Cavan who they
had only just defeated in the group stages with a late goal. Half way through the first half it looked like a tired Tyrone side were heading for defeat when Cavan led 2 goals to no score, but that was not only Cavans last score but their last attack. Tyrone clawed back to go in the half time only two points down. The reshuffled Tyrone team came storming out in the second half and completly dominated the rest of
the match to claim the Anna-Lee cup on a score line of 1-05 to 2-00.
The second team produced some brilliant passages of football in what was really their first time to play together, and accounted for Armagh , Cavan & Monaghan in the round robin stages before losing out to Monaghan in a very closely contested final. This performance by these girls should auger well for them in the up coming Ulster championship where they play Derry , Down, Armagh & Fermanagh.
