Under 14 lose opener
Tyrone 1 - 09 Monaghan 4 - 11

On Saturday at Killeeshil the Chieftain trailer sponsored under 14 first team suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of old rivals Monaghan.
Monaghan with the benefit of a game last week lost no time in putting the Ulster blitz winners on the back foot with a display of attacking football. It was the twenty eight minute before the red hand girls registered their first score a goal by Louise Kelly, but by this time
the farney girls had record a score of 2 - 7. Rebecca Forbes pointed a free followed by another from Louise Kelly to leave the half time score Tyrone 1 - 2 Monaghan 3 - 07
The second half started with Tyrone determined to reduce the damage and they had a sustained period of attack on the Monahan goals, but some sound defending and brilliant work in the Monaghan nets by Amy Treanor  kept Tyrone to a hand full of points courtesy of Forbes(4) Kelly(2), Kerri McGarvey and Aimee Fox (1 each). Monaghan then got them
selves a few minors to keep their lead intact and a fourth goal in the dying minutes sealed what was an emphatic victory over a rather quiet Tyrone.
